Our Pastor

Pastor Tom Mulder has been married to Beth since 1984. Together they have three children.

Pastor Tom has been a minister since 1982, in British Columbia and Saskatchewan. In big cities and small rural towns.

Although he was born in Chicago and lived there until he came to Canada in 1982, he considers himself a total Canadian. "I've been a Canadian for longer than I was American", Tom says. "This Country has been a wonderful place where I first became a minister, married a Canadian and have three very Canadian kids. I love Canada!"

Although Tom still refuses to say Zed instead of Zee, we won't hold it against him. Tom became a Christian in 1974, in his second year at university. "Having to defend my faith from the moment I invited Christ into my heart has molded me into the man I am today". Tom had a leadership role in his Campus Christian Fellowship almost immediately. He graduated from university in 1977 with a B.A. in Sociology.

From 1979 - 82, Tom earned a Master of Divinity Degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. An Evangelical Free Church Seminary.

After doing two summer internships in Terrace, B.C. he became pastor of a new little group meeting in a Legion Hall in Castlegar. Tom got married while ministering in Castlegar to his beautiful wife Beth. After four years, when the little group had tripled in size and moved into their own building, Tom moved on to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

The church in Moose Jaw had considered closing its doors before Tom came. It was a congregation of mostly retired people. Tom moved on over six years later when the congregation had doubled and was a mixture of young families and older people.

Tom spent five years in Burnaby, church planting House Churches. It was the most difficult time in his life, working in a meat packaging plant while ministering to new Christians. "The church in Burnaby didn't survive", says Pastor Tom, "but there are new people added to the kingdom because we were there.

I thank the Lord for the hard lessons he taught us, that I'll use throughout my life".

Tom and Beth moved to Prince George in 1999. The church congregation at that time was made up mostly of older people. It's an honor to minister to older people, or should I say, be ministered to by them". Tom has been in the church for almost a decade.

“I love the church and can think of nothing I would rather do than be used of the Lord to help His Kingdom grow".
