A recent venture was to create the Old West in our lower auditorium. Our creative people took wood and windows from an old farm house, tore down fences and old weathered wood planks to reconstruct a small heritage town of British Columbia. The town is the well known gold rush town called Barkerville, just two hours from Prince George. We copied six of their buildings, constructing false storefronts with window dressing from yesteryear. This became the backdrop for our special events during the year.

This is the reconstructed General Mercantile building.

On September 9th the community was invited to come and have a fun day with us in our church in Prince George. Over one thousand people came and there's no question everybody had a blast! The kids worked furiously trying to win at the many carnival games, such as the chicken flinger or the full size moving shooting gallery(constructed by our people and modeled on a little 16 inch high kid's game). And what did they win! From our hugh selection of prizes, the kids could use their prize tickets to select that special item they had been working on.
Throughout the day there was much activity taking place outside the church in our parking lot. There was continuous entertainment in front of our cardboard Court House. There were bluegrass bands, fiddlers and street theater. Then of course no event would be complete without food! It was oh so good!

This was the shooting gallery made from the kids game.

This is always a kids favorite, the duck pond.

The Chuckwagon Eatery, you can bet this was a very popular place.
